What does “Maturity” look like?

Sometimes things just strike me funny. Maturity is one of those things. You see the young trying to look “grown up” by their dress, make up, trying to grow beards and moustaches, anything to make them look more mature. Then on the other side you have those who are supposed to be mature trying everything to look younger. There are more advertisements for hair color, hair transplants, wrinkle removers, tummy tucks, chin lifts and an endless list of other products to make you look and feel younger. Now I’m not saying any of these things are bad. It just strikes me funny. Maturity is an … [Read more...]

According to the American Bible Society 88% of Americans say their household owns a Bible. That is good news. 82% of Americans consider themselves knowledgeable about the Bible. “Who Are You?”

You've heard the joke about a daughter calling home and asking her Dad for his advice. Suddenly the father, with a concerned tone in his voice, says, “Ok, who is this and what have done with my daughter?” We laugh, because there is truth in that little story. But have you ever really wondered “Who am I?” The Word of God answers that question in Ephesians 1: 4-14, “Long before He laid down earth’s foundations, He had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of His love, to be made whole and holy by His love. Long, long ago He decided to adopt us into His family through Jesus … [Read more...]
