A former nun wrote “It is wonderful not to have to cower before a vengeful deity, who threatens us with eternal damnation if we do not abide by his rules.” Conor Cunningham responded “Imagine if Hitler rather than an ex-nun had written those words.” The Bible is clear that God does not acquit the guilty (Num. 14:18). We have not abided by His rules and we will suffer eternal damnation because of it. The first chapters of the book of Romans leave no doubt about this. Such a deserved judgment is what makes the good news so incredibly awesome. Though we are clearly guilty and … [Read more...]

Good News Club Update

Good News

Thank you for praying for our Good News Club at Ryan Elementary. For eight years, we have taken God's Word into a public school, shared it with the kids, memorized Scripture, sang songs, played games, and watched as the Holy Spirit changed many lives for eternity! The blessings are countless. To everything there is a time, however, and it's time to move to another school. This year marked our last at Ryan Elementary. Please continue to pray and support our team as we start a new club in Chandler. If you would like to be a part of this incredible ministry or find out how you can support … [Read more...]

“God’s Bridge-Builders”

How are Christians supposed to respond to what is going on in this world??? News and social media are always saturated with stories, pictures and videos depicting all sorts of things, both productive, and nonproductive saturated with other people’s opinions. Laced in political biases, cultural perspectives and questionable journalism, sometimes even taken out of context; reading these can sometimes be discouraging. Mostly because it divides people; whether it is hitting on a sensitive topic or political ideology, many intentionally are just seeking to gain support from one side, while … [Read more...]

“Counting Our Blessings”

As some of you may know, this year is a huge year of exciting changes for our family. With the births of our grandsons, Grayson, Patrick, and Cruz, along with the soon expected grandchildren of McKayla, Curtis and Grant our blessing pool has expanded. I am so blessed as I think of all the gifts our Heavenly Father has poured out upon us. In James 1: 16-18 it says, ”Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth … [Read more...]

In 1966 A.W. Tozer wrote this: “I am among those who believe that our Western civilization is on its way to perishing. It has many commendable qualities, most of which it has borrowed from the Christian ethic, but it lacks the element of moral wisdom that would give it permanence. Future historians will record that we of the twentieth century had intelligence enough to create a great civilization but not the moral wisdom to preserve it.” I am afraid his prediction is going to be shown to be correct. Our technological advances are staggering. Just think that when Tozer penned those … [Read more...]
