“Counting Our Blessings”

As some of you may know, this year is a huge year of exciting changes for our family. With the births of our grandsons, Grayson, Patrick, and Cruz, along with the soon expected grandchildren of McKayla, Curtis and Grant our blessing pool has expanded. I am so blessed as I think of all the gifts our Heavenly Father has poured out upon us. In James 1: 16-18 it says, ”Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth … [Read more...]

In 1966 A.W. Tozer wrote this: “I am among those who believe that our Western civilization is on its way to perishing. It has many commendable qualities, most of which it has borrowed from the Christian ethic, but it lacks the element of moral wisdom that would give it permanence. Future historians will record that we of the twentieth century had intelligence enough to create a great civilization but not the moral wisdom to preserve it.” I am afraid his prediction is going to be shown to be correct. Our technological advances are staggering. Just think that when Tozer penned those … [Read more...]

“I Am A Living Testimony”

In this Easter season, when the gospel story takes the forefront of all of our attentions, whether you’re serious church-goers, committed born-again believers or hopefully both. Jesus Christ lived 33.5 years in human flesh, fully man and fully God, ministering to the masses with miracles, healing and a message of salvation. Then He was crucified in the most horrid way imaginable. He was mocked, beaten, nailed to a cross and died on that cross. After three days in a tomb, He arises to new life with all power over heaven and earth; over life and death. He then returns to comfort and empower … [Read more...]

Thoughts on Psalm 150

“Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with the tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.” Psalm 150 In looking at this familiar Psalm there are four questions that need to be asked. Where should God be praised? He … [Read more...]

What is the most important topic of discussion? It is obviously God! Who is God? What is God like? How can we know God? These and so many other questions are of eternal importance. According to a recent poll 64% of Americans believe the Holy Spirit is a force, not a personal being. While that figure is alarming, what is frightening is that the same poll revealed that 59% of evangelicals believe the same thing. God is one in essence and three in person. Each person of the godhead is divine: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. To deny the personhood of the Spirit is to deny … [Read more...]
