A former nun wrote “It is wonderful not to have to cower before a vengeful deity, who threatens us with eternal damnation if we do not abide by his rules.” Conor Cunningham responded “Imagine if Hitler rather than an ex-nun had written those words.” The Bible is clear that God does not acquit the guilty (Num. 14:18). We have not abided by His rules and we will suffer eternal damnation because of it. The first chapters of the book of Romans leave no doubt about this.
