“What were you thinking?”

Have you ever had someone ask you, “What were you thinking?” That usually sends my mind to a conversation with my dad in my teen years, after demonstrating my uncanny ability to make a dumb decision. Though my memory may bring back an uncomfortable moment, the question nevertheless is a good question. What are we thinking? In Philippians 4:8-9 the Apostle Paul gives us some great instruction in this very area. “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of … [Read more...]

A NOTE FROM OUR PASTOR

A boy was hitting his sister. His dad said "son, because you are a member of this family, I cannot allow this behavior to continue. I love you too much to allow you to keep hitting your sister." If we behave a certain way then God will love us and allow us to be in His family. However, the first response is actually what we find in the Bible. We are part of God's family by His grace. He loves us so … [Read more...]

The Ostriches are Coming!

March 7 - 9 The Chandler Ostrich Festival began in 1989. The event has grown to become one of the premier festivals in the southwest, with 250,000 to 350,000 people attending the 3-day celebration each spring. The popular festival is based on Chandler's colorful early history of ostrich ranching, which included raising these unusual creatures for their stylish and expensive plumes. The festival takes place at Tumbleweed Park, on the southwest corner of McQueen and Germann roads, featuring live ostrich races and ostrich-themed activities, national and regional entertainment, carnival midway, … [Read more...]
