CHANDLER PARADE OF LIGHTS

nativity

We will have a float in the Chandler Parade of Lights this year, celebrating our 100th birthday! The people mover, (driven by our Pastor), will be pulling a trailer with a nativity scene on it. The people mover will be lit up, and the puppets will be singing “Joy To The World” out of the windows. We have the plans, and Mr. Rittenhouse will be making the stable, but we need help putting it all together. This will be fun! The good news is that everything on the float will be moved to the lawn for the “Live Nativity”! The work days for this event are: November 16, 1-3 p.m. - paint … [Read more...]

IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!

We have a great opportunity this year to minister and celebrate Christ’s birth to our surrounding community by sharing a “Live Nativity”. This project has sparked excitement in some of our members, however, we need more help! On Saturday, December 14, and Sunday, December 15, we will set up a live nativity out in front of the church on the lawn by Arizona Avenue. The event will be from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., and will include the children’s choir and puppet ministries, as well as live animals and many adults in character. If you are interested in helping with this event, please … [Read more...]

Are We Unquenchable Worshippers?

“Though the fig-tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior”. (Habakkuk 3:17, 18). I so love the attitude of Habakkuk, who refused to be discouraged in his quest to glorify God, no matter how bleak the situation he found himself in, “yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior”. We see the same attitude in Acts 16 with Paul and Silas, sitting in their jail … [Read more...]

A Note From Our Pastor

When I started martial arts, every student in the class was ahead of me. I worked hard. When others would take a month off I stayed with it. I tested for the next belt as quickly as I was allowed. I stretched, practiced at home, memorized terminology, drilled for untold hours, and kept going even after pulled muscles and injuries with no break. After four and a half years I earned my black belt (a black belt typically takes about 5 years to earn). I stayed after it and kept working hard, staying after class for extra training, came in early to teach classes, still took no time off and earned … [Read more...]
